| Rent a Fountain for Your Next Party! |

It's finally here! Our new blog debuts today.
Please allow us to introduce ourselves. Owners Regie and Melissa Guzman began Capitol Chocolate Fountains in 2003 with one fountain and endless determination to be the Chocolate Fountain catering company of choice in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. We now have over 30 fountains, have done over 2500 events, have a 2100 sq. ft. office/warehouse to meet with clients, have a commercial washing system, a separate chocolate sales division and the same endless determination to be your Chocolate Fountain caterer of choice!
We will use this blog to tell you about some of the events we do, the latest trends, tell you about some of our favorite vendors, news in the chocolate industry, etc. We hope you stop by regularly to see what's new!
Please feel free to leave your comments.

Have you seen this?
The first political non partisan tee shirt! This is hysterical.
Visit the website werescrewed08 to purchase one.
|

If you don't wear tee shirts, they have bumper stickers too!
|

Ok, no more politics. Hope you have a great weekend. We have lots of fountain out this weekend and I will post some photos next week.

Do you have a fountain and just need some fool-proof, fabulous imported Belgian Callebaut chocolate? Over the course of our 5 years and well over 2500 events, we have had hundreds of people ask us where they could purchase our chocolate. We began selling it a couple of years ago and each time someone purchases some and uses it for an event we get phone calls from their guests wanting to buy some!
It comes in a 2.5 lb. microwavable tub and is available in milk and semi sweet varieties.
NO OIL. This chocolate does not require the use of any oil or other thinning agent to flow in your fountain. You wouldn't believe the stories we've heard.
Check with the printed information that came with your fountain to see how much chocolate is recommended for your particular model. Most fountains will hold between 2 and 5 lbs. of chocolate.
Here is what it looks like without the lid. Our containers are re-sealable and allow you to melt it directly in the tub or remove any amout and melt is in a microwave-safe container.
Below is the milk chocolate. |

| Below is the semi sweet chocolate. |

This chocolate is made by Callebaut and is made for use in fountains. This chocolate is imported from Belgium and is not made by Van Leer, a division of Barry Callebaut in Canada.
Make sure you know about the chocolate you are buying! One company touts their less expensive chocolate as "Crafted in the finest Belgian tradition and proudly made in America." What? What does that mean? If it isn't made in Belgium with Belgian liquor, then it isn't Belgian chocolate. (fyi - Belgian liquor does not contain any alcohol) |

| Each 2.5 lb. tub is $20. Shipping is additional and available via the US Post Office. If you are in the Northern Virginia area and would like to stop by our office to pick up some chocolate, please call us to make sure someone will be in the office. We can be reached at (703) 369-7378. |

| If you have any questions about our chocolate, send us an email or give us a call. We'd be happy to help! |

| If you have purchased chocolate from us for your home-model fountain, please post a comment below. Others would love to hear how easy it was to use and how great it tasted!! |

| Have you ever seen something quirky that just made you laugh out loud? Yesterday we attended the Food Show in Harrisonburg put on by Sysco. We had to park at the fairgrounds and take a shuttle over to the show area. While driving into the fairgrounds we passed this sign and I had to do a double-take. Loafing? Loafing?? How old is this sign? When was the last time you heard someone use the word loafing? |

| I laughed about it all day long. I was glad I had my Flip video recorder with me as I always do now. You never know when you're going to need it. Sometimes those pesky Congressman get out of line and a video of their behavior might come in handy. Enough said. |

| The Food Show was simply amazing. While we have participated in many food shows with the fountains, we have never attended one as a vendor. It was a great time but please don't show me any more food! |

| People often ask us what differentiates us from other companies offering chocolate fountains. The differences are numerous. In this post I'll explain what a drip guard is and why it makes for a better fountain experience. |

The photo above clearly shows the drip guard on each of the three fountains. A drip guard, made of food grade stainless steel, attaches to the base of the fountain. It extends the drip area 3 ¾ inches making a nicer presentation and shortening the distance from a dipped item to the plate. With your guest holding their plate over the drip guard, the dipped item does not drip on the table below. If you notice, the linen on the table remains clean!
|

| The orange chocolate is always a hit! It is a colored and flavored chocolate made by Callebaut and imported from Belgium. It tastes like a creamsicle! |

| A drip guard is included at no additional charge with each fountain rental when you book with us! |

It's a great day in Washington, D.C. with the return of baseball and the new National's stadium. Wish I could have been there.
I have always loved baseball. Having grown up in the SF Bay Area and within 10 miles of Candlestick Park, I spent many hours watching the Giants play. Yes, I even scored the games. I remember the good years and not-so-good years. Summer in the 'Stick with down parkas and heavy blankets to try to keep warm. Enough already.
Here's to a winning season for the Nats!
I vow to get to the stadium this year! It looks beautiful! |
